Brandon T. Beal, MD, FAAD

Brandon T. Beal, MD, FAAD, is a Fellowship-Trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and Board-Certified Dermatologist.

Dr. Beal works closely with each patient to understand your concerns, explain different treatment options, and develop the best individualized treatment plan for your skin cancer. This collaborative approach helps you feel comfortable and confident that you are receiving the highest quality and compassionate care. Dr. Beal follows the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines as well as the American Joint Committee on Cancer staging guidelines.

Dr. Beal has published extensively about skin cancer, Mohs Surgery, and facial reconstructive surgery. He continues to influence the specialties of Mohs surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, and dermatology through teaching, research and innovation. Dr. Beal completed his dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Institute and his fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Dermatologic Oncology at Zitelli & Brodland, PC. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Beal is a member of the Baptist Health Medical Staff.

Alexandra (Alex) Anthony, PA-C

Alex joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in March 2022. She is a certified physician assistant whom obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Florida. She continued her education at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is registered with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has received training in a variety of clinical areas. As a physician assistant, she specializes in skin, hair and nail disorders. Alex is passionate about the practice of all aspects of dermatology. She takes pride in her energy and devotion for providing quality patient-centered care.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys going to the beach, boating, traveling, and hiking trails with her dog. 

Amanda Fair- Practice Manager

Amanda joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in the fall of 2021, bringing with her over 10 years of managerial experience in the medical field. As the Practice Manager, Amanda is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the clinic on behalf of Dr. Beal. She wants to ensure a positive experience for each patient at Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists.

Amanda resides in Georgia with her husband and two children. She enjoys her time off with days on the beach, live music, travelling, and cheering on the UGA Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!

Bryan Jenkins- Clinical Lead

Bryan joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in the spring of 2021 after honing his skills as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant through the National Healthcare Association. As a Medical Assistant, Bryan is American Red Cross Certified in Adult and Child CPR and AED administration. On a typical day, you’ll find Bryan assisting Dr. Beal with exams or surgeries, often showing off photos of his beloved dogs or telling ridiculous dad jokes.

Bryan resides in Murray Hill, Jacksonville with his wife and two dogs. On his days off, Bryan enjoys hand building and playing guitars, doing extensive yard work and cheering on the Colorado Rockies baseball team. Do you have photos of your dogs? Bryan would love to see them!

Mari Abston- Medical Assistant

Mari is a medical assistant who joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in the fall of 2020. Mari has over four years as a dermatological medical assistant. She loves meeting and getting to know our patients.

Originally Mari is from Philadelphia, but now resides in Jacksonville with her husband and his close-knit extended family. She enjoys her time off cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family.

Kelcy Jenkins- Surgical Histotech

Kelcy joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in the spring of 2021 with four years of experience as a Surgical Histotech. As a Surgical Histotech, Kelcy processes all the tissue specimens from biopsies or surgical procedures performed in office by Dr. Beal. On a typical day, you’ll find Kelcy listening to punk rock while cutting tissue or staining slides in the office laboratory.

Kelcy resides in Murray Hill, Jacksonville with her husband and two dogs. On her days off, Kelcy enjoys singing karaoke, cooking or baking and “running errands” at Marshall’s and Target. Do you like funky hair color and nail art? Stop Kelcy in the hall and say hi, she’s always got both!

Ashley Penaflor- Front Office Coordinator

Ashley joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in January of 2022 with 5 years’ experience as a Front Desk Office Coordinator. On a usual day in the office you can find Ashley at the front desk scheduling patients and answering phone calls. 

Ashley was born in Jacksonville Florida and grew up in the beaches area. On her days off, Ashley enjoys stand-up paddle boarding and looks forward to learning how to surf in the spring. If she is not out dancing to live music, you can find her at home painting landscapes with acrylic on canvas. 

Julia Acker- Medical Receptionist

Julia joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in January of 2022 with 5 years’ experience in various medical offices.  Julia loves patient interaction and greeting everyone she encounters. Originally, she is from South Florida, but moved up to Jacksonville in 2013.  In her free time, she loves to crochet, attend a good concert, and most of all spend time with her two dogs. She is thrilled to be a part of the team and looks forward to meeting you.

Sherri Nuss- Billing Manager

Sherri joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in September of 2020. She has over 25 years in the medical field specializing in billing, management, insurance, and clerical. She is a Certified Professional Biller and has specialized in Mohs and Dermatology since 2012. Sherri is responsible for all billing aspects for the practice to ensure proper billing and procedures are adhered to for both the practice and the patients.

Sherri has three children, two adult children and one son still at home. She has 3 grandchildren and spoils them every chance she can. She enjoys her time off spending time with her family and friends. She also does charity work with the Order of the Eastern Star.

Marguerite Smalley- Insurance Specialist

Marguerite joined Jacksonville Skin Cancer Specialists in August of 2021. She has many years of experience in the medical field ranging from medical records, coding, and clerical. She retired from the VA Hospital and works part-time with Dr. Beal as an insurance specialist.

Marguerite resides in Pennsylvania and has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to go on cruises with her ladies and enjoy as much time at the beach as possible.
